In 2022, the Thai government announced the Andaman Wellness Economic Corridor project to develop medical tourism in six Andaman provinces, with Phuket as the leading destination. BDMS Wellness Clinic’s expansion in Phuket aligns with the government’s plan to make Thailand an international medical hub by 2026.

Dr. Tanupol Virunhagarun stated, “In 2019, before the global tourism halt, Thailand’s medical tourism market was ranked 7th worldwide with a value of $17 billion. Medical tourism in Thailand has gradually recovered from 2020 to 2022 with a growth rate of up to 36%.” He added, “The new clinic at Laguna Phuket is a testament to our commitment to making Phuket a leading health destination in Thailand and the Andaman region.”
