On April 23, the final round of the prestigious Faldo Series Asia 2025 officially commenced today at Laguna Golf Lăng Cô in Hue. The event has brought together 68 exceptional young golfers representing numerous countries and territories across the region, including Japan, South Korea, India, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong.
On the opening day of competition, the Vietnamese contingent delivered a striking debut, marked by numerous under-par scores and a proliferation of birdies on their home course.
Nguyen Tuan Anh emerged as Vietnam’s standout performer on the first day. The young golfer carded an impressive seven birdies against a solitary bogey, concluding his round with a remarkable score of 65 strokes (6-under-par). This outstanding result not only positioned Tuan Anh at the top of the overall leaderboard but also secured him the leading spot in the Boys’ U16 division.

Alongside Tuan Anh, other representatives from the Vietnamese team also demonstrated promising form. The 2024 Faldo Series Asia champion, Nguyen Duc Son, along with Doan Uy, both posted scores of 68 (3-under-par). This places them in a tie for second (T2) on the overall leaderboard and makes them joint leaders in the Boys’ U21 category. Meanwhile, Ho Anh Huy concluded his day with a score of 69 (2-under-par), positioning him provisionally at T4 overall and T2 in the Boys’ U16 division.
This strong performance can be attributed to the meticulous preparation undertaken by the Vietnamese contingent. Notably, most of the team members competed just a week prior in Stage 3 of the VGA Junior Tour 2025, also held at Laguna Golf Lang Co. This event saw Nguyen Tuan Anh claim victory with a cumulative score of 9-under-par, providing valuable course experience.
Other results recorded by the Vietnamese team include: Nguyen Trong Hoang (+2); Tran The Bao, Nguyen Bao Chau, and Than Bao Nghi (all +5); Ha Nam Khanh, Nguyen Khanh Linh, and Nguyen Quoc Bao Huy (all +9); Nguyen Xuan Vuong (+12); Hana Vuong (+14). Ngo Thanh Son withdrew from the competition (WD).
Tomorrow, April 24th, the competitors will proceed to the second round as they continue their pursuit of the prestigious Faldo Series title. Established by the English golf legend Sir Nick Faldo, the Faldo Series stands as one of the world’s most esteemed junior golf development pathways, renowned for nurturing the talents of numerous leading professionals, including Rory McIlroy, Tyrrell Hatton, and Joaquin Niemann.
