Earth Hour is an annual campaign of Laguna Lăng Cô, started with the aim of highlighting sustainability issues. By participating in Earth Hour to promote awareness about climate change, Laguna Lăng Cô inspires and mobilizes all associates and guests to take action on climate change.
2024
Date: 23th March 2024 – Laguna Lang Co
Laguna Lăng Cô joins hands in embracing the “Give an Hour to the Earth” message to the community through various meaningful activities such as training and quizzes on energy topics, turning off lights, saving energy and bonding time together at our restaurants.
For hotel guests:
- Turn off unnecessary devices and lights from 08:30PM to 09:30PM
- Join 60+ Street Food Market, enjoy live music (unplugged), and various fun activities for children.
For associates:
- Turn off lighting and air-condition in the offices (if possible)
- Participate in Candle decoration of Earth 60+
- Laguna Lăng Cô CSR collaborate with the Engineering and Learning departments to organize training and quizzes on energy topics for associates.
Achievements:
We engaged 60 guests, 35 associates and saved 195.66kWh just within one hour
2023
Date: 25th March 2023 – Laguna Lang Co
In response to Earth Hour 2023, Laguna Lăng Cô encourages its guests to partake by extinguishing electrical appliances from 8:30 to 9:30 PM on March 25th. Concurrently, indulging in the Street Food Festival amidst candlelight on the central lawn is highly recommended.
The event has garnered the participation of 45 guests and 27 hotel staff members.
2022
Date: 26th March 2022 – Laguna Lang Co
Many energy-saving activities, such as candlelight dinners, tree planting, energy-themed talks, and the Energy Saving Week challenge, were held within two weeks in response to Earth Hour.
Achievements:
With all 77 guests, 32 associates and 25 community members engaged in the following activities, we saved 143 kwh in one hour of power outage at Laguna Lăng Cô.
2021
Date: 27th March 2021 – Laguna Lang Co
Give Earth an hour:
To celebrate Earth Hour, F&B team prepared candles placed in recycled soft can drinks and set up posters and a pledge board that Angsana and Banyan Tree guests can sign and pledge to support the Earth Hour.
When the light was switched off, 161 guests and 27 associates enjoyed together the twinkle candlelight and felt together “Heal the World” rhythm in a cool breeze of a dark night. After one hour of switching off the light, BT Lang Co saved 131 Kwh and Angsana Lang Co saved 166 kwh.
Laguna – Run for Earth [60km + Challenge]:
To collectively raise voice for nature, Activities Department held a fun run day and got the participation of 29 guests and associates. We ran about 4km through the beautiful forest, lake and rice field around Laguna Lang Co Golf. In every breath, we felt nature inside us. the fee got from this activity will be spent to protect birds and wildlife around our resort.
This was a virtual run campaign to spread out the message of green and healthy living style connected to nature to all associates. Associates were challenged to complete the 60km run within 8 days. After 8 days, there were 242 runners joined the Challenge and together they ran 13101,71 km.
2019
Date: 30th March 2019 – Laguna Lang Co
Laguna Lang Co CSR team, in collaboration with Food &Beverage and Engineering Department held several activities to celebrate Earth Hour and raise awareness about climate change among hotel guests and associates.
For hotel guests:
- Turn off unnecessary devices and lights from 08:30PM to 09:30PM
- Join Seedling Street night at Central Lawn or Earth Hour Candle light dinner with handwriting menu
For associates:
- Turn off lighting and air-condition in the offices (if possible)
- Participate in Candle decoration of Earth 60+
Achievements:
We engaged 137 guests, 60 associates and saved 136.176 kWh just within one hour
2018
Date: 9th – 24th March 2018 – Laguna Lăng Cô
In conjunction with the annual global climate action event Earth Hour, the Laguna Lang Co CSR team will continue supporting Earth Hour 2018 to increase the awareness of climate change, and enhance the actions and efforts for energy conservation.
For hotel guests:
- Turn off unnecessary devices and lights, especially from 09:00AM – 10:00 AM and 08:30PM – 09:30PM
- Join in the special candlelit dinner that utilises no electricity at Angsana Central Lawn from 6:00 -9:00PM
For associates:
With the theme: “Be a change maker- use your power”, the campaign this year will be extended to a series of three challenges that encourage the power of knowledge, creativity and speaking out from all Laguna Lang Co staff to help make a difference.

2017
Date: 24th & 26th March 2017 – Laguna Lăng Cô
In 2017, Laguna Lăng Cô continue celebrating Earth Hour by carrying out some initiatives on 24-26th Mar, from 9:30 – 10:30 AM
For hotel guests:
- Turn off non-essential lighting in certain areas from 8:30pm to 9:30pm on 25th March
- Join a special dinner that utilizes no electricity at Angsana Central Lawn from 6pm.
For associates:
- Meeting in the dark – working in the dark (using natural light instead of light bulbs)
- Join fun CSR quiz to raise awareness and understanding of Earth Hour and energy conservation
- Turn off lighting and air-condition in the offices (if possible)
- Implement/ practice conserving tips which are already displayed in published places
Achievements:
- Enthusiasm participants from all departments during Earth Hour
- 70 in-house guests joined the candlelit dinner
- Earth Hour campaign saved 5500kwh (equal to 566 USD) from electricity for whole Laguna Lăng Cô complex
2016
Date: 18th & 19th March 2016 – Laguna Lăng Cô
In 2016, Laguna lăng Cô encouraged hotel guests to turn off non-essential lighting and participate in special fire-lit BBQ dinner with no electricity organized in the evening.
In addition, associates were motivated to save energy by conducting meetings in sunlit open area instead of indoor, and by following the energy saving tips posted around office and back-of-house areas.
Achievements:
- Associates from all departments participated in the activities and 77 in-house guests joined the candlelit BBQ dinner.
- 4950kwh (equal to US$544) of electricity was saved.
2015
Date: 27th – 29th March 2015 – Laguna Lăng Cô
Hotels’ guests were encouraged to join in this meaningful event by turning off non-essential lighting in certain areas from 8:30pm to 9:30pm on 28th March – the main day of Earth Hour. There was also a special fire-lit dinner with no electricity organized at Moomba Upper Deck for guests in the evening.
Besides, associates were motivated to try to save as much electricity and water as possible between 27th and 29th March by following the tips posted around office and back-of-house areas.
