In a global effort to raise breast cancer awareness, now the most commonly diagnosed cancer globally, October has been designated the Pink Month. It’s a month where efforts to educate those concerned about the disease, including early identification of signs and symptoms associated with breast cancer.
ProShop’s Donation Campaign
In order to support patients with breast cancer, in 2024, Laguna Lang Co Golf Course is launching a donation program in which for every women’s product guests buy from our Proshop this October, we will donate $1 to BCNV fund (Breast Cancer Network Vietnam – a member of Union of Cancer Control). PINK flags were also used during October in our Golf Course to raise people’s awareness about the disease.
The Importance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Breast cancer is a global health concern, affecting millions of women each year. It’s the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women worldwide. The statistics are startling:
- Estimated in the world, 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.
- Even men are susceptible to breast cancer while this rate is less in men than women.
- Breast cancer cannot be prevented, but early detection provides more than 80% possibility of successful treatment.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month serves as a reminder of the importance of regular breast self-examinations, clinical screenings, and mammograms. It encourages women to take proactive steps toward their breast health, fostering a sense of community and support among survivors, patients, and their loved ones.
