Nguyen Tuan Anh holds lead after round 2 of Faldo Series Asia 2025

Round 2 of the 2025 Faldo Series Asia Final has concluded, marked by strong performances from the continent’s young golf talents. Amidst a field featuring the region’s best golfers, Vietnamese players showcased their determination on every hole. Nguyen Tuan Anh continued to maintain his leading position on the leaderboard after two rounds.

Entering the second round building on the momentum from an explosive first round (65 strokes, -6), Nguyen Tuan Anh continued to play with calmness, steadiness, and composure. Despite making his only bogey on the 11th hole, the young golfer from Vietnam quickly bounced back with two impressive birdies on the 15th and 16th, parring the rest. Tuan Anh finished Round 2 with a score of 70 strokes (-1). His two-day total of 135 strokes (-7) gives him a convincing hold on the provisional lead.

In a tournament where every stroke can shift the standings, his two-stroke lead over challenger Jaemin Park isn’t yet a comfortable cushion, but it is enough to demonstrate the maturity of Tuan Anh—a highly promising representative for Vietnamese golf.

Another Vietnamese player quietly making his mark is Ho Anh Huy. With consistent play over two rounds, Anh Huy is currently tied for 3rd (T3) with Hyojin Yang. In Round 2, Anh Huy carded 3 birdies on holes 5, 15, and 16, showcasing the young golfer’s strong mentality. Notably, Ho Anh Huy recently climbed to 194th in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR)—his highest career ranking to date.

Ho Anh Huy is close behind the leaders in the Boys U16 division, trailing only his teammate Tuan Anh, promising an exciting competition on the final day. In the Boys U16 category, besides Tuan Anh and Anh Huy, Vietnam also has Nguyen Trong Hoang currently ranked 6th and Nguyen Quoc Bao Huy in 13th place.

Decisive shots, strategic play, and mental fortitude will be the determining factors for the outcome.
